The efficiency of the thermoelectric generator depends upon
establishing a large temperature difference between the top and bottom of the generator.
The aluminum housing has to act as a heat sink, pulling the
maximum amount of heat away from the top of the generator and transferring it to the fan
air.
The metal
alloy in the housing should have the maximum possible thermal conductivity while meeting
mechanical property requirements.
