Aluminum 380

amc.gif (6172 bytes)

The aluminum alloy 380 is the most widely used of the aluminum die casting alloys with excellent castability.

The 380 alloy meets all the requirements for density, thermal conductivity, and mechanical properties.

The per-pound metal cost of the aluminum is higher than zinc. However, the block in aluminum has only 41% of the weight of the equal volume of zinc.

So the block in aluminum has lower actual metal cost (1.5 pounds x $0.93/pound)  than the block in zinc (3.6 pounds x $0.69/pound).

The  aluminum alloy is the best choice.
