The cost of a fourth
(3-feature) slide
in the die for this large a production run will have lower
per-part cost than the alternative of added rough machining steps for the
three features.
The slide block with the
three features will also give
tighter tolerances on the position and diameter of the two holes and drill
point,
compared to rough machining.
