A 3-Feature Slide

amc.gif (6172 bytes)

The cost of a fourth (3-feature) slide in the die for this large a production run will have lower per-part cost than the alternative of added rough machining steps for the three features.

The slide block with the three features will also give tighter tolerances on the position and diameter of the  two holes and drill point, compared to rough machining.

  • All the slides are coated with "Solvanite" for wear resistance and lubricity/release

  • A spray lubricant is used in the die before each shot.

A fourth slide is the most cost effective and most accurate method of producing the holes and drill point on the base of the elbow across the full production run.
