Two gating designs were considered for feed into the
elbow housing. Option A -- A
1/2 ring gate into the heavy end of the housing. Option B -- A fan gate
at the thinner top center section of the housing.
Option
A -- 1/2 ring gate into the thick end section
Option
B -- Top shot gate into the thin center
section
Choose
the gating design (Option A or Option B)
that will
meet the two prime requirements -- 1) flow path
with fewest direction changes in the die cavity and 2)
gating into an inconspicuous, "hidden"
surface.
